Meet Baby Colin

I may be bias since this cute, adorable, snuggly little baby lives right next door to me but I think it’s safe to say that baby Colin could quite possibly be the cutest little boy ever! At just about a week old the little guy was such a trooper at his session. We may have had to stop for a quick snack but other than that he was content. I was excited to get a little snuggle time with him as well. I have had the joy of photographing his older sister Kiera as she grows and it is so fun to see this little one—I can see so much of her in him but can also see so much of his dad (which I thought I saw in Kiera but has taken on a new spin with Colin). I look forward to photographing Colin as he grows and to be able to share some sibling love over time as well! Take a peek at some of the adorable pics I was able to capture of our sweet new neighbor.

Katie + Jay {MARRIED}

I am so excited to share the wedding of Katie + Jay Allen! I can’t begin to describe how much fun we had at this wedding. It was actually very last minute that we got signed on to photograph this great couple so we didn’t get the usual experience of getting to know them through their engagement pictures. Fortunately Katie + Jay are super friendly and fun to be around and we felt like we were a part of the wedding party!

Their big day took place at Cedarhurst Mansion and let me just say, what a great location! There were so many fun and unique places to choose from to take photographs!! It also helped that we had great subjects to work with. The wedding party was AWESOME! They really let us have fun with them.

Take a peek at some great moments from their big day. Congrats Katie + Jay!!

Baby Claire

We now have a tiny little niece in the Yantes family—baby Claire. She is so blonde and adorable. I got to spend a couple of hours snuggling with her right after she was born and of course I got to take a few pictures of her too. She was pretty fussy so we had to take a lot with the pacifier (good thing it was cute and girly!) but we were able to capture some at the end of the session with out it. Take a look at some of my favorites below!

Happy Monday!!

Desseray + Justin {MARRIED}

I am so excited to finally share with you a glimpse of the first wedding we photographed this year—Desseray and Justin Sampoang! Let me tell you, it was hard for me to choose the 20 images that you are about to see below. I liked so many of them! Dessi and Justin are such a great couple. Dessi and I go way back to the cheerleading days in college where we taught cheer camps for middle school and high school students. I just love her! Troy and I both got to spend some time with them this summer before their wedding at their engagement session at Como Park and right away you could just see the love they have for each other. They were a joy to photograph. And their little one, Kaoni—what a doll! He is such a happy little guy. He did such a great job posing for us. I love the photo below of him and Dessi. It is just precious!

Thank you Desseray and Justin for letting us spend your special day with you! You are a beautiful couple and we wish you all the happiness in the world! ~A + T

Cuddly Cullen

I am excited to share these adorable pictures of baby Cullen with you! I had so much fun photographing this little one.  He was such a good little guy—he never fussed once! The only time he got a little upset was when his mommy and I tried to put him in a basket (which is understandable). This session was also exciting because his mom Annie and I have known each other since we were in 8th grade and hadn’t seen each other in 10 years! It was so great to see her again and to meet her little man. I can’t wait to capture and share more of Cullen as he grows over the coming months. Below are some of my favorites from his session. Enjoy!

Baby Monday!

Hi everyone! I am working hard on pictures today and wanted to share a few favorites from 3 different newborn/baby sessions—Cullen, Carolynn and Claire! Check back for more blog posts from when these sessions are done. I just couldn’t help but post a quick preview of these little angels. Happy Monday!

Chen Family

I can’t believe how much fun Troy and I had on this session—it probably helps that Mya and Taj are two of the cutest kids in the world. No joke. Little Taj just ate up the camera. You can tell his mom likes to take their pictures. They were naturals in front of the camera and always had a pose in mind. Aspasia and Chen are also one of the cutest couples that we have been around. Their love for each other is so obvious and it makes you feel happy just being around them! Aspasia is also one of the most beautiful pregnant women I have ever seen. She still dresses in her trendy, non-maternity clothes and she just makes pregnancy look beautiful. Below are some of my favorite shots from their family/maternity session as well as some of my favorites from newborn Sachiko’s shoot! That little girl sure does have a lot of hair! Thank you for letting us be a part of such a special time in your lives Aspasia and Chen. We love you!

Go Team AYPD!

I am SUPER EXCITED to announce that we have added two wonderful, fabulous, talented, AWESOME assistants to Team AYPD! Because our business is growing we are able to add to our team and be more available to you!  Troy and I feel super blessed to have these guys on our team. I know you will love them as much as we do!

We took some time out of our busy summer schedules to have a team mini-shoot. I am sure I am speaking for everyone when I say that we had such a great time goofing off and just being our fun, silly selves! It’s pretty clear from these pictures that we love to have fun!

Take a minute and check out the pictures from our shoot and learn a little more about us! Thanks for stopping by! HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

Hi, I’m Ashley.
To me, photography is more than just snapping pictures. It’s about capturing those moments in life that you want to hang on to, forever.

A BIT ABOUT ME:
I try to incorporate lime green into anything and everything (PMS 376 is my favorite)
I am blessed to have some of those friends who truly love you for who you are, no matter what.
I absolutely adore our dogs (Oliver and Booth) and our cats (Jackson, Max and Aurora). They rock my world.
I crave water with ice. LOTS of ice.
My favorite word is extravaganza.
I can’t cut a straight line to save my life.

I LOVE: My husband, a great cup of coffee, comfy clothes, the cold side of the pillow, everything Apple, Friday adventures with my best friend, when Booth has his “sleepy ears” on, scrapbooking, laying by the pool and snuggling with my nieces and nephews.

Hi, I’m Troy.
If you don’t laugh during a session with us, I haven’t done my job.

A BIT ABOUT ME:
I am naturally talented at making kids smile.
I have an obsession with electronics.
I can eat an entire bag of chips in one sitting. And yes, I consider that a meal.
I am blessed to have a wife who loves me unconditionally.
My favorite word is absolutely.
If Ashley buys candy, I will eat it all (unless she buys Twizzlers. I hate Twizzlers).

I LOVE: My wife, Puma shoes (seriously, I have 10 pair), autumn, Call of Duty, our pets and hooded sweatshirts.

Hi, I’m Tony.
Photography is my way of bringing out everyone’s hidden inner beauty for the whole world to see!
I LOVE: My baby dog Abby, camping up North, anything electronic, video game rpg’s (yes, I am TOTALLY a nerd!), LORD OF THE RINGS!
MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME: I am Sam
SOMETHING I’M ADDICTED TO: Mom’s good old-fashioned Italian cooking!

Hi, I’m Tiffany.
To me, photography means holding onto a memory even after you’ve forgotten it happened. I love looking back over photos from my life and have the happy times and memories come flooding back!
I LOVE: My husband, summer, fall, being outside, lakes and ice cream
IF I COULD HAVE SUPER POWERS: My teeth would clean themselves each time I ate something and before I got up in the morning.
5 THINGS IN MY PURSE: Lip gloss, cell phone, keys, chewing gum and bobby pins
BEVERAGE OF CHOICE: I love cool water (but not cold and DEFINITELY no ice!!!) and I also love a good Caramel Macchiato!
FAVORITE WORD: Futterwacken

Meet Jaden

March 18, 2011 started just like any other Friday. I remember walking down the stairs that morning, checking my phone for any messages (like I always do) and to my surprise there was a text from Troy’s brother Matthew saying him and his wife Alicia were at the hospital, expecting the arrival of their first child. I yelled the news to Troy, I was so excited (not that I love babies or anything)! Needless to say not a lot got done that day. Troy’s mom and I emailed back and forth all morning seeing if the other had heard any news. A little after noon we received the message that Jaden Matthew was finally here! The rest of the afternoon was terrible, just counting down the minutes until we could meet our new little nephew. He was even cuter than the pictures we were sent that afternoon. So tiny and precious. I could not wait to photograph him!

The next week we made the trek up to Matthew and Alicia’s to get some great newborn photos of the little guy. The session turned into an hour of snuggling and talking, a couple of hours of photographing (with feeding breaks of course) and then another hour or so of snuggling (and when I say snuggling I mean I was the one snuggling Jaden, not Troy)! Jaden’s room has a monkey theme so naturally we needed to put him in a monkey themed onesie and sit him in a chair surrounded by all his monkeys! This might be one of my favorite pictures—the look on his face is just great. It’s like he knows what we were doing and will yell at us about it when he turns 16.

Below are some of my favorite moments from the shoot. I hope you enjoy them! We love little Jaden, Matthew and Alicia so very much and are so happy they are in our lives. Congratulations! We can’t wait to continue to capture many more moments as he grows.

How Time Flies!

First of all, I would like to apologize for my extreme lack of posting! Busy times. That shouldn’t be an excuse, I know. I vow to do a better job the rest of the year keeping this more up to date! If I’m not keeping my promise, shoot me an email to keep me on my toes (ashley@ashleyyantes.com).

A couple of weeks ago our dear friend Esther gave us the wonderful news that they are expecting their 4th little one this coming December! We are thrilled and overjoyed to have another precious baby join our family. Over the last 4 years we have had the pleasure of photographing their growing family. The news of their latest addition made me think back to all those photo shoots, all the hours spent together as one hour sessions turned into all day sessions—Esther and I collaborating on fun ideas for the shoot, taking breaks for naps, snuggles and coffee treats. Our friendship has grown so much over this time and we are so lucky to have such great and loving people in our lives!

Below are some of my favorite images from the last 4 years. Unfortunately I wasn’t around before Thelia was born or when she was an infant so the first images I shot of her were at Esther’s first maternity session with us. I am sad that we missed out on the first year of her life but we have definitely made up for it over the last 4!  I can’t wait for maternity session #3 this fall!

Happy Friday and Happy Easter!
